Levels
Brock Dance takes pride in offering a variety of classes at beginner/intermediate, advanced, advanced plus and open levels for our classes. Dancers may take multiple classes as long as they only take one level of each style (e.g., You cannot take both Advanced Lyrical and Beginner/Intermediate Lyrical. However, you could take Advanced Ballet, Advanced Lyrical and Beginner/Intermediate Hip Hop because they are all different styles of dance).
Below are general guidelines for what can be expected at the different levels offered:
Beginner/Intermediate (B/I)- Recommended for dancers with none or some dance training in the specific style. Basic technique is reviewed and dancers in this class level learn new skills and build on existing ones.
Advanced (Adv) - Recommended for dancers with strong training in the specific dance style. Advanced classes are considered pre-competitive level and are recommended for dancers with several years and/or competitive dance experience in the style.
Advanced Plus (Adv Plus)- Recommended for dancers with very strong training in the specific dance style. Advanced classes are considered pre-competitive level and higher and are recommended for dancers with several years and/or competitive dance experience in the style.
Open - Classes that do not have an indicated level are open to dancers with any level of experience in this style (example: Musical Theatre)
